About The Personality Test
The Personality Test is a free personality test website that gives you the whole report, explains exactly how it works and keeps your answers on your own device.
Why did we build it?
Many personality tests online give you a short teaser, then keep the useful part behind a payment or an account. We think that is backward. Your full results should be free, the science behind them should be open, and your answers should belong to you.
So we built a test on public-domain research questions, scored it with a method anyone can check, and wrote every profile ourselves in plain English. Then we added the things people actually want to do with a result: study and career ideas, a picture to share and a way to compare with a friend.
What makes it different?
- Two tests. A quick 5-minute version and a full 15-minute version with 29 extra facet scores.
- Everything free. No locked sections, no premium report, no account.
- Open method. We name the exact question sets and publish the scoring rules on How it works.
- Private by design. Scoring happens in your browser. Your answers never reach our servers.
- Made to be used. Study tips, career ideas, a share card and a compare tool for friends and partners.
- Plain English. Short sentences, no jargon and no big promises.
How do we write it?
Every type profile, tip and explanation on this site is original writing. We describe common patterns, not fixed fates, and we try to be fair to every type: each one has real strengths and real blind spots. When the research is uncertain, we say so. We never give medical, mental-health or financial advice, and we don’t name real people as examples of a type.
Independence
The Personality Test is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any other personality test, test publisher or type system. Four-letter codes such as INTJ are used only as plain, descriptive labels for combinations of Big Five scores.
How is the site paid for?
The site shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads are never placed inside the test, so nothing gets between a statement and its answers. There is no paid version. Our privacy policy explains how ads and cookies work and what choices you have.

About us, briefly
Who runs The Personality Test?
A small independent team that builds free, simple web tools. We keep this site deliberately lean: no accounts, no paid tier and no tracking of your answers.
Is this a scientific test?
It is built on well-studied, public-domain research questionnaires and scored with a simple, open method that we publish in full. It is still a self-report questionnaire for self-reflection, not a clinical or professional assessment.
Why is it free?
Because we think a full personality report should not sit behind a payment. The site is paid for by advertising, which is kept out of the test itself.
Are you connected with other personality tests?
No. The Personality Test is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any other personality test, test publisher or type system. Our nicknames and descriptions are our own.
Can I suggest a feature or report a mistake?
Please do. Email hello@thepersonalitytest.app. Clear, specific reports help us fix things fast.
