Terms of Use
These terms say how you may use The Personality Test: a free test for self-reflection and fun, not professional advice, and not a tool for hiring or selecting people.
Last updated: October 6, 2026
These terms apply to your use of The Personality Test at thepersonalitytest.app (“the site”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. What the site is
The site offers free personality questionnaires based on public-domain research items, along with written descriptions of personality types, for self-reflection, learning and entertainment. Results describe how you answered; they are not facts about what you can or cannot do.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing on the site is medical, psychological, mental-health, legal, financial or career advice, and nothing on it is a diagnosis. Career and study ideas are general suggestions to explore. If you are worried about your health or well-being, please talk to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
3. No use for selection
You may not use the tests or results to make decisions about other people, including hiring, promotion, admission, grading, insurance or housing. The tests are not designed or checked for those purposes.
4. Your results and links
Your answers and results stay on your device, as explained in our privacy policy. You control what you share. When you share a link or a result card, anyone who receives it can see the scores in it. Please only enter or compare results with the consent of the person they belong to.
5. Acceptable use
- Don’t try to disrupt, overload or break the site, or get around its security.
- Don’t use bots or scrapers to copy the site’s content in bulk.
- Don’t present the site, its results or its cards as official certificates or as coming from someone else.
- Don’t use the site for anything unlawful or to harass anyone.
6. Content and ownership
The questionnaire items come from the International Personality Item Pool and are in the public domain. All other text, nicknames, type profiles, graphics, code and design on the site are our own work and are protected by copyright. You may link to any page, and you may quote short passages with a link back. You may not copy whole pages or profiles to other sites or products without our written permission.
7. Ads and other websites
The site shows ads and contains links to other websites. We don’t control those ads or sites and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Please read their terms before you use them.
8. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we don’t promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or right for any particular purpose.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its results. The site is free, and you use it at your own discretion. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Changes
We may update the site and these terms from time to time. When we change the terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

Common questions about these terms
Can I use my results in a job application?
You can mention them if you like, but employers should not rely on them. The test is designed for self-reflection, not for hiring or selection, and using it to screen people is not allowed under these terms.
Can I share my result card on social media?
Yes. Your result card and share link are made for sharing. Please don’t edit the card to make it look like an official certificate or score report.
Can I copy your type descriptions?
Please link to them instead. You may quote a sentence or two with a link back to the page. Copying whole profiles or pages to another website is not allowed.
Can teachers use the test in class?
Yes, for discussion and self-reflection, with each student using their own device. Please don’t use results to grade, group by ability or select students.
Is the test medical or psychological advice?
No. It is a general-interest questionnaire. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
