Privacy Policy

This policy explains what The Personality Test collects, which is very little, what stays on your device and how analytics and Google ads work on this site.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version. Your answers and results stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. We have no accounts and ask for no names or emails. Ads on this site come from Google, which may use cookies; you can control that. Visits may be counted with Cloudflare’s cookie-free analytics.

Who we are

This policy covers the website The Personality Test at thepersonalitytest.app (“we”, “us”, “the site”). You can reach us at hello@thepersonalitytest.app.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, receive or store your test answers, your scores, your name, your email address or any account details. The test is scored entirely inside your browser. There is no sign-up and no login.

What is stored on your device

To keep your place and show your results again later, the site saves a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. It includes:

  • Test progress: your answers so far, so a refresh or closed tab doesn’t lose them. This is removed when you finish.
  • Your latest result and a short history: up to ten recent results, stored as scores only.
  • A pending comparison: if a friend sends you a compare link before you have taken the test, their scores are kept until you finish.

You can delete all of it at any time with the button below, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

When you share a result, the link carries your scores after a # sign, for example /results#r=1.q.62.48.71.55.30. Browsers do not send the part after the # to our server. The link holds scores only, never your answers or your name. Anyone who has the link can see those scores, and scripts running on the page, including ad scripts, can see the page address, so share it only with people you choose.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies of our own. Our advertising partner, Google, may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as device identifiers or local storage) when ads are shown, as described below.

Advertising: Google AdSense

The site is paid for by ads served by Google AdSense. This is how that works:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or to other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies lets Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google consent message before personalized ads are shown, and can change their choice later.
  • Where your local law gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted ads, you can use the choices above, and your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal where it is supported.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com. Ads are never placed inside the test itself. If we add any other ad partner, we will name it here first.

Analytics

We may count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which gives us totals such as page views, which pages are popular, the kind of device and browser, the referring site and the country. Cloudflare states that this tool does not use cookies or local storage and does not track individuals across sites. We use these totals only to improve the site.

Hosting and security

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, in order to deliver pages quickly and protect the site from attacks. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Our fonts and scripts are served from our own site; the only third-party scripts are for ads and analytics.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Teenagers are welcome to use the test for self-reflection. If you are under 16 and live in Europe, please ask a parent or guardian before agreeing to personalized ads.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to some uses of it. Because we do not hold personal information about you, there is normally nothing for us to hand over or delete: the data on your device is under your control. For advertising data, use Google’s controls above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you have any question, email us and we will help.

Where data is processed

Google and Cloudflare run services around the world, so technical and advertising data may be processed outside your country under their own safeguards.

How long data is kept

We keep no personal data. Data in your browser stays until you delete it. Google and Cloudflare keep data according to their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.

Privacy questions

Do you sell my data?

No. We don’t collect your answers or personal details, so there is nothing for us to sell. Google, which shows ads on this site, has its own policies and choices, described above.

Why do I see ads?

Ads pay for the site, so the tests and the full results can stay free. Ads are never placed inside the test.

Can I use the site without personalized ads?

Yes. Turn off ad personalization in Google’s ad settings, decline personalized ads in the consent message where one is shown, or use your browser’s privacy controls. You may still see ads that are not personalized.

Does clearing my browser data delete my results?

Yes. Your results are stored only in your browser, so clearing this site’s data removes them for good. Keep your share link if you want a copy.

Do you use my results for research or to train anything?

No. We never receive your answers or your results, so we can’t use them for anything.
