Personality Compatibility Test

This free personality compatibility test puts two people’s results side by side, trait by trait, so you can see where you match and where you differ.

It works for friends, partners, roommates and teams. It does not score your relationship or predict whether it will work: it shows your differences so you can talk about them. It works with links only, so nobody’s answers are shared.

How does the compatibility test work?

Each of you takes the test on your own device, and your answers stay there. To compare, one of you sends a link that holds only five scores (and facet scores, if you took the full test). This page puts the two sets of scores side by side and writes a plain note for each trait.

How do I read the differences?

  • Under 15 points apart: about the same. You likely understand each other easily here.
  • 15 to 29 points apart: some difference. Worth a quick conversation.
  • 30 points or more: a big difference. This is where most misunderstandings start, and where you can learn the most from each other.

A difference is not a problem. Many strong friendships and partnerships pair a planner with an improviser, or a talker with a listener. The notes suggest small, practical ways to meet in the middle.

What can we use it for?

  • Partners: pick your biggest gap and talk about what each of you needs on a hard day.
  • Friends and roommates: look at plans, tidiness and social time, the three classic sources of friction.
  • Classmates and teams: see who likes to plan, who likes to brainstorm and who speaks up first, then split the work to match.
  • Family: compare with a parent, child or sibling and see which habits run in the family.

What can’t it tell you?

Whether two people get along depends on values, kindness, communication and many things no questionnaire can measure. Use the comparison to start a conversation, never as a verdict on a relationship.

Questions about comparing

Can a personality test tell if we are compatible?

Not on its own. It can show where your styles differ, which helps you understand each other. Whether a friendship or relationship works depends on trust, kindness, respect and how you handle your differences.

How do I compare with my partner or a friend?

You both take a test. Then one of you copies the invite link from the results page and sends it. When the other person opens it on their own device after taking the test, the comparison appears. You can also paste both results links on this page.

Are opposite types a bad match?

No. Opposite scores often complement each other: one person plans while the other adapts, one talks while the other listens. It helps to talk about the differences openly instead of hoping they will go away.

Do you see our results when we compare?

No. The comparison is worked out in your browser from the links you paste. Nothing is sent to us or saved on a server.

Can I compare a quick test result with a full test result?

Yes. Both tests score the same five traits from 0 to 100. Scores from the full test are a little steadier, so treat small gaps with some care.
